• Notes

  Married: Alexander Pickard & Janet Stuart being cited & called compeared and confessed that they were irregularly married & produced a Certificate of their marriage dated Edinburgh the thirteenth day of January one thousand seven hundred & fifty five (13 Jan 1755) Witnesses: Thomas Watson & Janet Burket residents in Edinburgh & signed by Patrick Douglas, Minister. They adhered to their marriage before the sesson. The Moderator sharply rebuked them & exhorted them to serious repentance - Research Note: If Alexander and Janet followed the naming pattern of Scotland the following should be the parents of both Alexander: Alexander & Helen Janet: John & Mary Alexander is definately an important name as I have located two births of sons called Alexander, so the first one most likely died young or at least before 1772. Number of Children: 6 Known Children But are there any children between 1766 - 1772 ? More reserach is required
