Had Issue: 1:Walter in Hermitage, married Agnes Armstrong, Newcasteton; died 1893, aged 64 , having had issue: a:Robert in Hermitage, who married 1stly Isobel, sister of J G Wilson, and married 2ndly Mary Elizabeth, daughter of Walter Paisley, Hawick. Robert gave up the lease of Hermitage fram and reitred to Newcastleton where he died in 1937, aged 72. He left an only child - Isabella Jane Armstong (Elliot) b: Mary Murray (Elliot), married John Grahm Wilson, tweed manufacturer in Hawick. c: Janet, died aged 14 d: Ellen, married Archibald Rawlinson Oliver Rutherford of Dinlabyre. Unthank Cemetery: The Ewes Valley No 2. In Memory of Robert Elliot, tenant in Hermitage who died 11th Decemeber 1858 aged 67 years. Also Mary Elliot his spouse, daughter of Thomas Murray, Whisgill who died 8th March 1835, aged 31 years. Also Thomas Elliot their son who died at Scoor, Island of Mull, 4th November 1854, aged 24 years.
